Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a program which provides financial assistance for
people who are aged, blind or disabled and have limited income and limited savings and
assets. An ABLE account offers the opportunity for people who have a disability to save or
invest without effecting SSI or other needs-based benefits such as Medicaid.
